Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of hosting an open house luncheon at the barn for local corporate and non-profit event planners. The event turned out to be invaluable for our team as we had the unique opportunity to pick the brains of our peers to see how WinMock fared against their personal event center wish lists.
Our personal highlight – the casual roundtable discussions over lunch and timing could not have been more perfect as renovation kicked off shortly thereafter…as the planners filed out, the construction crew filed in!
We want to thank all of you who joined us for this valuable event. Congrats again to Kristin Solis of WFU Worrell Professional Center who found a little cow under her apple to win our first free rental prize!
We look forward to seeing all of you next year for our big barn unveil!

New Special Events Center Developed for Event Planners by Event Planners
The primary purpose of this event was to allow our planner friends to share their own thoughts and wish lists with Sterling staff and WinMock Managing Director, Tabatha Renegar. The well-attnded event included a tour of the property with an extensive look into the plans for the space as well as a catered lunch from Savory Spoon hosted in the barn’s future Forsyth Dining Room.
Building off their own experiences in the industry, Sterling Events Group, celebrating 25 years in business this year, has made the needs of today’s corporate event planner a top priority in the design of their new special events center, WinMock at Kinderton.
Some of the identified needs have included more cost effective catering options, plentiful lighting configurations, flexible space and affordable rates per head, and all have been addressed in the planning of the new Triad special events center.
“We have found ourselves saying wouldn’t it be great if a venue had this or that while we have been on the road with our clients’ events,” commented Wayne Thomas, president of Sterling Events Group. “When we made the decision to push ahead with this project we collectively built a wish list around those comments in an effort to create an ideal venue for planners just like us.”
To further enhance the space for local planners, Sterling Events Group recently hosted a Meeting Planners Open House at the barn where guests could share their own thoughts and wish lists with Sterling staff and WinMock Managing Director, Tabatha Renegar. The well-attended event included a tour of the property with an extensive look into the plans for the space as well as a catered lunch from Savory Spoon hosted in the barn’s future Forsyth Dining Room.
Renegar shared that “it was such a great opportunity to really pick their brains and find out what they feel has been missing in our area. We understand the complexities involved in executing an event. It’s not easy and we’re thrilled to be able to offer such a unique, accessible space for their future use. We hope to see them back next year with a planned event of their own!”
The planned special events center, WinMock at Kinderton, is housed in a historic 17,000+ square foot barn and will include two outdoor terraces, two private dining rooms, multiple meetings rooms and an upstairs Loft ballroom. The property is currently under renovation and is set to open June, 2011. Advance bookings are available. Contact Tabatha Renegar at 336.397.2012 or visit www.winmock.com for more information.
