You might remember Sara and Aaron from last year… Their awesome engagement photos, shot by David Rosen of Photo Innovations, were some of the last photos taken at WinMock before we began renovations last November. This engaging couple also had the vision to see beyond the hay and dust and sign on as one of […]

Our good friends, Ellen Moore of Coldwell Banker Commerical (broker for Kinderton Place and Kinderton Commercial Center) and her husband, Richard, treated us to a neat video they put together which gives a wonderful look at the barn before and after renovations. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to share with you. What a journey it […]

After a stormy start to our wedding season, the skies finally parted to give way to our first official outdoor wedding at the barn. Bride, Dawn, her groom, Patrick, and their family and friends brought a wonderful energy to WinMock and shared not one but three events with us during their wedding weekend: rehearsal dinner […]

We have often said our booked WinMock couples were visionaries. They saw past a dusty old barn and could imagine what WinMock would become. Kristen and John were certainly not an exception as they signed on as our very first WinMock wedding. An interesting note: Kristen’s father, architect Michael West of West and Stem Architects, PLLC, was our lead architect on […]

It started with an idea. A lofty idea really, of how we could preserve and protect an old grand barn and fill it with life once again.
But as we all know, ideas often remain just that… ideas. To actually see a concept this grand become a reality, let’s just say it is quite a beautiful thing. The hard work, clear vision and careful execution coupled with a community filled with gracious support were the key ingredients in this transformation.

The team at Sterling has been supporting the barn renovation project for nearly two years now, and has watched our new team at WinMock grow and really take the reins. Last week we all came together as one and planned a special day […]

Hello friends, as you can imagine, a lot has happened since we last chatted two weeks ago. As we count down our final weeks until completion it’s a fury of energy and progress at the barn with our ever growing crew focused on a perfect completion. It truly is an amazing sight to see. This week alone brings us major milestones including stained concrete for our sidewalks, terraces, and parking areas; bathroom tile, flooring and fixture installation; The Loft’s beautiful original hardwoods will be refinished; our elevators are being installed; our meeting rooms will receive fresh coats of paint in prep for final touches… the list goes on and on.
But hey, enough about this week’s to do’s, let us bring you up to speed on what’s been checked off!

Did you know WinMock was developed by event planners for event planners? It’s often an overlooked fact that we here feel is extra important to note, especially if you are part of that corporate/non-profit event planning crowd (like some of us are).
Our corporate event planning team at Sterling Events Group (parent company of WinMock at Kinderton) have spent years carefully thinking through the ins and outs of event facility needs. We created a checklist of “must haves” and “really wants” and worked with our architect and contractor to develop a design that would accommodate as many items as we could. Here is our top five list.
