March 8, 2011
As we inch our way closer to glorious Spring, we wanted to take a quick look back at some of our February renovation highlights that have us ahead of schedule as we move full speed into March.
The Great Outdoors:
The roof. The roof. The roof has been covered.
Here, you can see the black membrane roofing that has taken the temporary place of the original red tin roof. The new red roofing is being added this week!
We hear from guests time and time again that they are so surprised to discover how massive WinMock is in person. This picture really shows the depth of the barn. The entire length of the roof encloses the magnificent Loft ballroom.
Here, you can see the entire roof covered in the black membrane (and the barn with a fresh coat of white primer). We're now all set to add the final piece - the replicated red tin roof!
Other projects going-on outdoors…
Our ditch and drainage system is being installed throughout the property.
Our terrace areas have been leveled and are ready for their next phase.
View of the future West Terrace which will feature a grassy gradual slope down to the main terrace area. This terrace is nestled between WinMock, the former milk processing building and the small granary barn.
The look will soon change once a final paint color has been selected. Seven options remain. It’s funny how hard it can be to select that right shade of silo beigy gray…
Step Inside:
OK, enough of the outdoors. Let’s warm up with a check indoors, shall we?
Level one had the most obvious transformation in February.
Installation of those little details that make a big difference is also underway.
Let the insulation being! WinMock will be available for year-round use thanks to the addition of a new HVAC system and this insulation.
As we move upstairs to our signature ballroom space, let’s take a moment to peek at the progress of the stairwell. Imagine. As your guests walk up the farm house-esque staircase they will see beautiful whitewashed german siding with framed pictures highlighting the history of the grand old barn.
Up in the Loft, excitement grows daily as the plating kitchen, upstairs restrooms, mezzanine area, staircase/elevator landing, and ballroom space continues to take beautiful shape. Our latest favorite enhancements to the Loft ballroom are the new window panels on both the north and south ends that invite in so much beautiful natural light!
Did you know? The mezzanine in the Loft ballroom is over 570 square feet. It a great sized space that is perfect for DJs, bands, keynote speakers or even a nice VIP lounge.
As you can see, February sure delivered some fantastic updates at the barn. We are excited to see and share all that March will bring!
Looking foward to the grand opening. Would love to see it. Tex & Anne.
Mark your calendars for May 26th – our tentative sneak peak celebration!
The building looks awesome… I pass it everyday. If I run into the river not paying attention to driving just so I can look at the “work of art” developing with the barn; send a construction worker to fish me out because I love what is occuring with WinMock (The Barn)!!
Too funny!! We feel the same way. Thank goodness they widened the bridge!
I liked the concept of window panes. yes there may be some clients who do not like natural light, this concept is appropriate for them.
