Things to Do in and Around Winston-Salem
Winston-Salem and the charming little towns that surround the vibrant city are packed with delightful eats and coffee, amazing breweries and wineries, unique parks, and a few neat shopping experiences. For our guests who come from out-of-town, we thought it would be helpful and fun to have our favorite Winston-Salem things to do and see all in one place- this blog! We’ve got a pretty good line-up below that we feel has something for everyone. Enjoy!
Breakfast + Coffee
Lavender + Honey Kitchen LLC – A wide variety of delicious bakery items and coffee. The cinnamon rolls are a must try! And right next door is a fun home décor shop called Fiddle + Fig.
Krankies – A trendy, industrial space with out of this world coffee. Our favorite item? The Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit + their iced chai tea latte.
Mozelle’s Fresh Southern Bistro – A quaint bistro that offers an earthy, upscale atmosphere with incredible brunch options! The grilled pimento cheese – a delectable representation of a North Carolina staple.
Penny Path Café + Crepe Shop – A delicious and unique stop for savory and sweet crepes! After you finish breakfast, head right next door to the Shops at Reynolda for a fun shopping experience.
Dough-Joes’s Doughnuts + Coffee – Located in the heart of historic Reynolda Village, this hip café serves the best made-to-order doughnuts!
Village Juice – Fresh and local ingredients make up the best juice you can find. We love it so much that we stick around for their salads at lunch as well!
Katharine Brasserie – A contemporary French restaurant with an acclaimed breakfast menu.
First Watch – If you don’t want to travel into Winston-Salem, this is a great breakfast + lunch option in Clemmons, just 10 minutes from WinMock!
Maddie Cakes – Our couples often say this is an all-time favorite!! Grab coffee and bakery items right down the street from WinMock. Still looking for a wedding cake? Look no further. Maddie delivers to WinMock for free!

The Porch Kitchen + Cantina – Enjoy fresh and delicious Tex-Mex in a fun, eclectic environment.
Hops Burger Bar – A crowd pleasing, burger joint with endless burger + fry combinations.
Camel City BBQ – A casual delicious BBQ joint for the family with great outdoor seating options!
Raku Ramen – Sushi, Ramen and Hibachi… what more could you ask for?!
HakkaChow – Asian Eats – Another popular spot for creative Asian-fusion eats with a fun cocktail menu!
Ketchie Creek Bakery & Café – Located in Clemmons, only a few minutes from WinMock this locally-owned and operated bakery filled with sweet treats and full-service deli has something for everyone!
Lil Dipper – A walk-up ice cream window with delicious vegan options!
The Board Babe – Need a charcuterie board for your event or just want to have a fun brunch? This place is a winner.
Sweet Potatoes – An award-winning restaurant with creative southern inspired home cooking.
Cugino Furno – This yummy pizza joint is next door to Incendiary Brewing Co. and PERFECT for families to grab pizza and drinks with lots of space for littles to safely play! If you like your pizza with ice-cream instead, make sure to check out their Clemmons location, which has Abbott’s Frozen Custard right next door.

Joymongers Barrel Hall – An industrial-feel, dog-friendly barrel hall with a long list of beers, ciders and seltzers and a fun event schedule including weekly bingo, trivia and performances by local artists.
Small Batch Beer Co. – Brewery, bar and full-service restaurant in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem with unique burgers and sandwiches, hand-crafted beers and Instagram-worthy milkshakes.
Joyner’s Bar – Upscale lounge offering a contemporary, romantic vibe and artisan cocktails.
Tate’s Craft Cocktails – An innovative cocktail menu with unique ingredients and an intimate ambiance.
Bar Pina – A trendy, vibrant, rooftop bar with frozen daiquiris, and a wide-variety of on-draft custom cocktails. Their paloma is to die for!
Vintage Sofa Bar – A fun, emporium of vintage sofas, a fun menu of Mules and delicious charcuterie.
Foothills Tasting Room – If you are searching for a drink outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown, look no further! Foothills Tasting Room has a spacious patio where you can sip beer and order yummy food from the variety of food trucks that frequent the space.
Wise Man Brewing – Located next door to The Ramkat, our local concert venue, Wise Man boasts a wide beer + seltzer selection, rotating local art galleries and great outdoor + indoor seating options.
Incendiary Brewing Company – Home to one of the most popular wide open outdoor spaces in all of Winston-Salem. With its industrial aesthetic and structure from the former Bailey Power Plant that fueled R.J. Reynolds Tobacco factories, the history throughout the property is beyond intriguing. There is endless space for children to run and play, dog-friendly accommodations and endless amounts of outdoor seating.
Vineyards
Childress Vineyards – Owned by NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, this is one of the most prominent wineries in all of North Carolina with it’s timeless aesthetic and wide selection of wines.
Divine Llama Vineyards – A rustic vineyard and the largest llama farm in the Southeast! You can drink wine to your heart’s content and pet llamas. There is also a llama trek offered occasionally where you can hike with a llama!
Medaloni Cellars – A romantic winery with cabins, treehouses and an Airstream on property available for rent!
Pilot Mountain Vineyards & Winery – Hands down – best view of Pilot Mountain in all of North Carolina. This winery offers a tasting room, live music on Sundays and fire pits to enjoy smores with your wine.
Shopping
Reynolda Village Shops + Restaurants – Here, you can find places to eat, art galleries, boutique clothing stores, and beautiful gardens to stroll through. It is a great one-stop-shop experience.
Thruway Shopping Center – Thruway has a little bit of everything! Boutiques, lots of places to eat, ice cream, a pet store and even a Trader Joes.
Parks, NC Charm + Activities
Salem Lake Trail – A seven-mile trail encircling Salem Lake. Popular for runners, equestrians, walkers and bikers!
Old Salem Museums & Gardens – A historic district within the city originally settled by a Moravian community back in the 1700s. Volunteers dedicate their time to keeping the authentic history alive with several National Historic Landmarks, museums, churches and Winkler bakery which has been fully-operational for over 200 years via wood-burning oven.
Bailey Park – In the heart of Innovation Quarter downtown, Bailey Park is a publicly accessible lawn designed for every sort of park activity. Local food trucks, free yoga, movie-showings, concerts, festivals, you name it! It even connects to the locally loved Long Branch Trail.
Quarry Park – As the name suggests, Quarry Park was formerly a Quarry until the early 1970’s. This park offers great views of the downtown skyline from the overlook pier extending over the quarry’s water. There are also connecting greenways for the runners, dog-walkers and bikers to enjoy!
Tanglewood Park + Golf Course – The perfect nearby spot for kiddos and adults. Tanglewood offers playgrounds, a dog park, walking trails and golf! You are also bound to see horses in the pastures and in the barns.
Pudding Ridge Golf Course – An affordable golf course with friendly staff!
Tap That Axe Throwing – A fun indoor axe throwing location with a great bar, and better yet, only 8 minutes from WinMock!
Wine and Design Winston-Salem – Sign up, show up, sip up, PAINT! (as mentioned on their website😉) Paint and sip wine with your favorite people!
